A Smile… Day Twenty Four

I went most of the day before I remembered that I needed a picture for the day – a smile… hmmm…  I knew I would be seeing the Newton pups and thought they might be a good source for a smile – with a little help – Charlie posed for day twenty-four.

Sunset… Day Twenty Three

Another favorite… I have a BUNCH of photos from past days of sunsets – but in trying to be true to the 30 days of photos – which I started over a year ago – I took the picture ON the day… was in Palm Springs and although the sunset over the mountains wasn’t all that spectacular, I loved the view of the distant mountains off the living room windows of friends of mine – look closely – there is a photo bomb in there!

Trees… Day Twenty Two

One of my very favorite subjects – I love taking pictures trees – the whole tree, a portion of a tree, a group of trees… my heart be still.  I decided to combine my love of trees with my obsession with the bird of paradise at work… so… here you go!

Patterns... Day Twenty-One

A quick post tonight and a bit of a different take on Patterns...  I tried to think all day about what type of pattern I would photograph and then I decided to take a photo of a pattern that the cat has established.  Lounging in the Gourmet Dog Entrees box - her favorite place. So here she is - enjoying one of the boxes she has - thanks to Auntie Jan and Uncle David and the entire Newton pack!  
And as I look at this photo - she looks a bit like a spiral sea shell... there's a pattern to those aren't there?  Ok... it's late - no more rambling... and off to bed!

What I Read... Day Twenty

Fascinating Reading!

The topic of photo today...  so there are two things - both from my Systematic Theology course - yeah - I'm not completely sure what it means but it is FASCINATING and I am very much enjoying it - and the reading makes sense! Good times!  So the book on the left is the required text - very interesting in looking at Christianity from a world view and at times comparing it to other religions.  The book on the right is a book of our choice (from the prof's list) that we will present in a written and oral book report.  I had originally chosen a book on prayer for the book report, but after I started reading the textbook, I changed my mind and decided to look at how Christianity is developing in Africa.  So the book on the left led to the book on the right... what I read.

It's been a while... a LONG while!

So Jan and I were talking this weekend about missing the whole blog thing - so I'm going to work on getting it started again...  I'm going to start by finishing up 30 days of photos - from last year!  Then we talked about taking on another project like that to give us some incentive to write on the blog... so with God's help - we'll see where this leads...

Up next in the 30 days... what I read - that should be easy - doing a lot of reading in school!

Welcome to the wonderful world of my blog!

Let me tell you a little more about myself…

The Day Job: I work for a major corporation in their training department. I have worked there for 17 years (I know, a long time in corporate America) and have been in the training department for 13 years. I have taught a variety of face-to-face classes and am just starting to develop and teach online courses.

Night School: I have felt for a long time that there has to be more to life than what I’m doing, so I have decided to go back to school. I am currently enrolled in Seminary to get a Masters of Divinity to become a Chaplain. Since this will take a while and cost quite a bit of money – I will not be leaving my day job any time soon.

Fun and Frivolity: I enjoy hanging out with my friends and doing Half Marathon events with my running peeps – although I’m all about the power walking! I also enjoy playing my guitar and am learning to play the ukulele. And with the addition of Night School – now spend quite a bit of time studying.

On the Road Again: I do enjoy to travel and have had the opportunity over the last several years to do quite a bit of it. Domestically, I’ve been to Walt Disney World and Hawaii most recently – both are a must for everyone! And Internationally, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to go on pilgrimages with my church to England and Israel. This fall we will be traveling from Turkey to Greece to Rome following the Journey’s of Paul.
